Winter Reading Guide, Big 2025 News, & Cozy Bookish Delights ❄️📚✨
Hi Bookish Besties!
The 2025 Winter Reading Guide has officially arrived! This year’s guide is packed with:
24 incredible new releases across seven categories, perfect for every kind of reader.
The Minimalist Reads List, featuring a curated selection of six standout titles for those who want to keep it simple.
The Shortlist is a mega list of 78 books I read, loved, and considered for the guide—each with “book-like” recommendations for even more reading inspiration.
And that’s not all! Paid subscribers also get access to the Winter Reading Guide Chat Video, where I walk you through the guide, share extra insights about the books, and chat about what makes them perfect for the season.
This is my fifth annual winter reading guide, and it’s packed with everything you need to make your reading season magical. So, if you decide to make one or both of the recipes in the guide, curl up with one of these carefully chosen books and a cozy blanket—your winter is sorted.
Big News for 2025
Before we get into the goodies below, I have some updates to share:
The Weekly Edit is Moving to Substack: Starting today, The Weekly Edit will no longer be sent through my traditional email provider. Instead, all newsletters will be hosted here on Substack. And to signal the change, it will be called the Weekend Edition—this very email you’re receiving today.
Reading Guides Will Be Substack Exclusives: Moving forward, all reading guides and other time-intensive content will be exclusive to paid Substack subscribers.
Why the change? 2024 was an incredibly challenging year, and many things weren’t shared on social media as much or received the financial support needed to continue keeping access free. You’ll also notice that all free virtual gatherings will be put on pause or hosted behind a paywall. But on a positive note, there will still be lots of free content, including weekly book lists, roundups, and the author spotlights you know and love.
If you’ve enjoyed my reading guides in the past and want to support their continued creation, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription. But even if you stay free, I’m so glad you’re here!
